Margaux Horn
I obtained my PhD with the thesis entitled: "Remodelling of the cardiac extracellular matrix in ageing and heart failure" in 2010. I am currently a post-doctoral research associate within the Unit of Cardiac Physiology at the University of Manchester.

My current research interests build on my PhD work with an emphasis on cardiac remodelling in both ageing and disease. Although still in the early stages of my career, I have been given the opportunity to present my data at both national and international meetings and I enjoy networking with other experts in the field, leading to new ideas. Last year, I was selected as a finalist for the BSCR Young Investigator Award at the joint BSCR/BAS Spring Meeting (Manchester, 2012). I also attended the BSCR Autumn meeting in Belfast (Sept 2012).
