|I obtained my PhD with the thesis entitled: "Remodelling of the cardiac extracellular matrix in ageing and heart failure" in 2010. I am currently a post-doctoral research associate within the Unit of Cardiac Physiology at the University of Manchester.|
My current research interests build on my PhD work with an emphasis on cardiac remodelling in both ageing and disease. Although still in the early stages of my career, I have been given the opportunity to present my data at both national and international meetings and I enjoy networking with other experts in the field, leading to new ideas. Last year, I was selected as a finalist for the BSCR Young Investigator Award at the joint BSCR/BAS Spring Meeting (Manchester, 2012). I also attended the BSCR Autumn meeting in Belfast (Sept 2012).
