The BSCR organises two meetings a year – a late Spring frontiers-style meeting, held jointly with the BAS at the BCS annual conference, and a focussed Autumn meeting. These meetings adopt a symposium format over two days with specific themes, comprising state-of-the-art contributions by prominent researchers from the UK and abroad. At these meetings, free communications broadly relevant to the theme of the meeting are invited from members of the Society as poster or oral presentations. The engagement of students and early career researchers is particularly encouraged and these meetings aim to provide a friendly forum for discussion of their work. Student members of the Society are eligible to receive travel bursaries to facilitate their attendance at BSCR main meetings (details can be found on the individual meeting pages). The annual Bernard and Joan Marshall Research Prizes are also presented at our Autumn meeting.
This page provides links to meetings either organised solely by the BSCR or jointly with other societies and organisations. We also highlight other cardiovascular meetings which may be of interest to our membership. If you would like to advertise your cardiovascular meeting on this page, please email the Secretary with relevant details which may include a weblink and attachment. There is also some useful information on potential funding opportunities for cardiovascular seminars or BSCR workshops.

BSCR Associated Meetings
The BSCR will consider applications from any institution for funding to support a cardiovascular seminar.
All you need to do is to send the BSCR Secretary an email providing brief details of your cardiovascular seminar series and the names of at least 6 colleagues who have joined the BSCR as new full members for the current calendar year.
It is easy to join the BSCR; it costs £25 per annum and applications can be completed online.
If your application is approved, we will send you a cheque for £200. You should indicate in your email to whom this should be made payable.
Additional requirements: awardees must ensure appropriate advertisement of the BSCR at the funded seminar and that a brief report is generated for the BSCR Bulletin.
Members of the BSCR who wish to organise a meeting, symposium or workshop are encouraged to approach the officers of the Society (the Secretary in the first instance). Potential organisers may download the current BSCR Rules for Main Meetings and BSCR Rules for Workshops, in PDF format, below.
