I’m delighted to welcome you all to our new look BSCR website complete with our new logo! Our goal with the website update was to provide the society with a modern and fit for purpose web platform. This will enable us to provide more functionality in the form of more multimedia content, more value to members and coordinate membership more easily than the previous Worldpay option. There has been a lot of work behind the scenes and I’d like to thank the developers, Offbrand, for their excellent work and patience, and all the committee members who have worked on this, especially our own Webmaster David Greensmith, without whose tireless efforts this would not have been remotely possible.
With the website in place I look forward to continue to involve our members and fulfill our mission: to promotes scientific exchange and networking for anyone engaged in cardiovascular research in the UK, and in particular early career investigators, in a supportive and open way. As ever, the society will only flourish with member participation, and I anticipate building an even more engaged society as we move forward.
Finally, I’ll end by wishing you the very best for the upcoming holiday season. I hope you all get a chance to catch up with family and friends and take a break. The last 20 months have been some of the most difficult times we have all known, but our science is still flourishing and I look forward to even better days in 2022!
